Mollie emailed me last spring about photographing her’s and Iou’s Heiffer International Wedding. I couldn’t have been more excited, as I could just tell from her initial email that they were a sweet, fun and spunky couple. I had the opportunity to meet them in October 2021 at one of my other sweet couple’s weddings in downtown Little Rock. Mollie was her bridesmaid, then a year later, Julianne was Mollie’s bridesmaid!

Mollie and Iou met in medical school in East Tennessee. They are now in residency in Columbus, Ohio. They were a COVID engagement where Iou was able to surprise Mollie while they were in Little Rock visiting Mollie’s family. They had arrangement for a fun COVID friendly dinner out when Iou said they needed to walk their dog first. Mollie & Iou went around the block, through Allsop Park, the forest across the street, and then Iou got down on one knee and asked Mollie to be his wife where of course Mollie said yes!

They walked back to Mollie’s house where everyone was there to celebrate and people drove by with champagne, balloons, and signs. It was the perfect pandemic proposal and Iou pulled it off flawlessly.

Fast forward a year and a half later, and I got to finally spend more time with Mollie, Iou and all of their family and friends for their wedding day at Heiffer International – and even a few hours the night before at their rehearsal dinner.

To say they are loved would be an understatement. They had family and friends travel from all over, even across the world to be there for them that weekend. Their wedding embodied all things fun, fall, love and good times. They had a sweet outdoor ceremony surrounded by the beauty of downtown Little Rock, with some gorgeous fall flowers brought in by their florist. We were able to evade the rain and get the outdoor photos of their dreams, followed up by one heck of a party with a live band for their reception. Congrats, Dr. and Dr. Chang. I’ll always remember this fun day with you, and your family and friends.
