Drew and John Moon are some of my favorite people. I had been looking forward to their wedding since they booked me over a year ago and it’s been a year of our friendship developing, and lots of laughs and good times. I had the tremendous blessing of doing their engagements, Drew’s bridals, as well as their gorgeous wedding last weekend and these two and their family and friends are such a blessing in my life. Couples like these make my job more than just a “job.” The Moon Wedding was full of southern romance and elegance. Drew’s dress deserves a moment all on it’s own. It was worn by not only her mother when she got married, but also her grandmother. Drew had it altered to make it a little bit more her style, by removing the sleeves. But – she had the lace appliqués from the sleeves sewn on to her veil. Her wedding dress had been worn by three generations of brides in her family which is a testimony of the marriages Drew and John have to look up to as they begin on this endeavor as newlyweds.

As always – I feel in true Arkansas fashion, the weather had us on our toes. It went from a 70-80% chance of storms to being clear for us all day so these two could have the outdoor wedding of their dreams. Another one of my favorite touches Drew and John added to their wedding day was incorporating cotton into their decor and wedding flowers. John and his family come from Lake Village, Arkansas and have worked with cotton their entire life. Delta Spindle Company is a cotton picker repair shop that was started by John’s grandfather. After his grandfather passed away, John’s father took over the company and owns it to this day! So the gorgeous and southern crop definitely had to make an appearance on their wedding day to represent their family legacy!
