Weather in Arkansas tends to be weird any time of year, but that cusp right between winter and spring is always super odd! The day before Kayla and Matt’s wedding at The Venue at Stonebrook Meadows… Arkansas got a big snow storm!! (Well… big for us southerners, lol) And I went to bed that night thinking… cool! Maybe we’ll get to take some portraits in the snow tomorrow! Then March 12th came around and as I was driving out to Stonebrook Meadows for Kayla and Matt’s wedding.. the roads were clear and all of the snow was melting away! We got out to the wedding and with a little exception of a bit of snow lingering in the shadows, you couldn’t even tell that we had gotten snow the day before!
Sweet couples like Kayla and Matt are simply my why. They’re my reason for doing what I do. From the first time I met Kayla to discuss her wedding photography needs, I felt like we clicked right off the bat then they simply stole my heart a few months later at their engagement session. Since then, I did Kayla’s bridals and finally photographed their wedding two and a half weeks ago and it was full of sweet and thought out moments.
Before their first look, the bride and groom exchanged letters in an intimate setting, they had a sweet first look, and allowed plenty of time in their day-of-timeline for portraits and enjoying the day. Kayla brought a long a few sentimental pieces with her to the wedding, including her grandmothers veil, and some jewelry.
Kayla’s wedding dress is a statement all in itself and is hands down one of the prettiest that I’ve ever seen – embellished with an intricate sparkle design all over it. A few sparkles may have found their way onto Matt’s suit before the day was done and over with!
Their reception was so much fun and you could feel the outpouring love and support from their family and friends, followed up by a gorgeous sparkler send off over the string lights outside of the venue, and Kayla sporting her cute black denim jacket that says “Mrs. Cable” on the back. What an amazing day for the best couple.
