In an instant—everything changed.
Fall 2022, I received a boudoir inquiry on my very wedding & family oriented website. This sweet girl was from out of town, in Little Rock working for a few months, and wanted to get a boudoir session done for her husband as a Christmas gift. She didn’t see any boudoir photos on my site at the time, but she really enjoyed my style and reached out to me just to see if I’d be willing to do a boudoir shoot for her! In her words, from November 2022, she asked, “Your photos are so gorgeous! I’m actually looking for a boudoir shoot, and I’d love to know if you ever offer that or if you’d be open to it.” And I said “OF COURSE! Let’s do this, girl!”
I had so much fun with this client. We created gorgeous, classic, sensual and minimalistic imagery. I loved experiencing photography in a new way. I had done a few boudoir shoots intermittently over the years – but something about this season of life I’m in just had me excited and wondering if I could open this up as a new area of business for Kayleigh Ross Photography.
After our shoot and she received her final gallery, she sends me this text, “Kayleigh! I love the photos so much!!! Truly had no clue I could even look that hot 😂 I LOVE a lot of the black and white and I love the one where I’m covering myself with just the sheet. So glad you suggested that. So many favorites! This is going to be the best present, I can’t thank you enough!!” After the amazing shoot, delivering her gorgeous gallery, and receiving that happy note – I knew I had to make the leap!
In the spring of 2023, I put together a few boudoir portfolio building sessions. I know that boudoir photography is so intimate, and not everyone wants their images shared online – which is 100% perfectly fine and to be expected! But I knew that in order for other women to find me and check out what I had to offer, I needed to build an online portfolio in the boudoir space.
I did 3 shoots back to back in March with 3 beautiful women who all agreed to let me share their images online, and since then – I even had the opportunity to do one more boudoir portfolio building session. After sharing boudoir photography online, I’ve had several women inquire and book me for their boudoir sessions and I’m just so happy, excited and grateful for following my heart and pursuing a new avenue of photography!
