This day was so wonderful. Sunny skies with a little cloud coverage, 72 degrees, the sweetest Golden Retriever – Leo – and a cute and cozy home sets the scene for Alex and Edward’s intimate wedding in Little Rock.
Alex contacted me a few weeks ago about shooting hers and Edward’s wedding and they knew they wanted it to be small and as private and intimate as possible. They talked for a while about the different location possibilities, including the Arkansas State Capitol or the Pulaski County Courthouse. But once they decided to do the wedding at their first home they purchased together on the front porch, that was the obvious choice. Not only is it extremely sentimental to them, it made it SO convenient for their sweet fur baby, Leo, to be involved in his humans getting married.
After a 13 year relationship, under grad, medical school, residencies, a 2 year engagement and a home purchase, these two said “I do” at their gorgeous home nestled in the heart of Little Rock on the most gorgeous spring day. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day for these two and it seemed so wonderfully “them!”
Their dog Leo is an ANGEL and he definitely has his mommy and daddy’s hearts. I can tell by the love and affection they gave their dog that he means SO MUCH to them, so we made sure to include him in so many of their portraits and he was the sweetest and most precious boy! He’s only a year and a half old but has the sweetest temperament and disposition.
During their wedding ceremony, they had a tiny little audience across the street. From their own front porch, Alex and Edward’s sweetest neighbors watched their ceremony and even blew some bubbles for them from across the street. You could feel the sense of love and community within these two families and it was truly the most cozy and perfect day.
After they got married and we took gorgeous portraits for them, Alex and Edward changed out of their wedding attire and took their best boy, Leo, on a walk around the block – like they do every day. And I just loved that so much.
