This Little Rock boudoir session was not only so much fun for me and Sarah, but it ended up being so extremely healing and therapeutic for her. Sarah has quite the story and I feel so blessed to have been able to capture these images for her. With Sarah’s permission, I’m honored to be able to share these images and her story.
Sarah attended a wedding event that I spoke at a few months ago. She was in the process of planning her dream wedding with her then fiance and she planned to spend the rest of her life with him. In a very heartbreaking and devastating turn of events, he called off the engagement and ended the relationship very unexpectedly. It caught Sarah completely off guard and crushed her world. Sarah recalled me speaking at the event, talking on all things wedding photography and even boudoir photography. A few weeks after the breakup, she found herself on my site and contacted me about setting up a boudoir shoot to help her gain some confidence back, heal, and do something for herself!
Sarah chose a room at The Baker House for her location after seeing a few sessions I’d done there. This is such a good spot that I love to recommend to my boudoir babes and it served Sarah and I so well.
During her shoot, there were so many times where I had to stop and be like… “SARAH!! You are KILLING IT, GIRL!” I showed her a few teasers on the back of my camera and she would go “I cannot believe that is me! I look so pretty!” Like girl… That is you! And you are STUNNING. After sending Sarah some previews via text, she said something this morning that brought me to tears.
“I’ve been through therapy, a wellness retreat, medication changes etc. and literally this shoot has had the biggest positive influence on my healing. More than anything else helped me this was like a huge turning point.”
Okay talk about getting emotional on a Tuesday morning!! It’s no doubt of mine that God drew my heart to boudoir photography. At first it started out with… “oh this is so fun!!” And it’s slowly turning into something deeper, with a more deep rooted purpose. Sarah has exponentially blessed my life by allowing me to photograph her boudoir portraits. She is strong, beautiful, and so capable. I feel honored to know her.
