Shelby & Mark: Richwoods Venue Wedding

Shelby and Mark are the kind of people who make you feel so loved, like you’ve been friends forever – and I honestly got this impression from Shelby’s initial inquiry email to me last year when she reached out to me about shooting her Richwoods Venue Wedding! They love being outdoors, they love to read, and they love their sweet dogs. UMMM HELLO! So do I! I knew this was going to be a match made in Heaven.

I adore this couple – and was so smitten with them after their engagement session last year, and was SO looking forward to their summer 2023 wedding.

I love how Shelby and Mark brought their sweet pug to the wedding – they even had him freshly groomed for the occasion!! Little Ace was such a cuddle bug, and was so excited to get love from everyone. We had to be sure to let him get in plenty of photos! And I think that was my first time ever meeting a pug in real life!!

Mark had the sweetest reaction to Shelby walking down the aisle. The way he looked at her – just absolute goals. Mark’s father officiated the ceremony which made it just all the more special. Also, Shelby’s amazing mom made their wedding cake! It was just as tasty as it was beautiful!!

We had the MOST GORGEOUS light for their wedding – and then of course the best golden hour during their bride & groom portraits. Were we all a little sweaty? Yes. Can you tell by looking at their photos? Absolutely not!! You can just tell that Shelby and Mark are so in love – and the very best of friends. They used their time during couples portraits to visit with one another, make each other laugh, and talk about the day. It was the best thing to get to experience as a photographer.

They had the most fun day for their wedding – and the best way to end it all was with a gorgeous sparkler send off and a fireworks show. Shelby and Mark are officially some of my favorite people ever – and of course sweet little Ace.
